About Post 754
American Legion Post 754 makes its home at the New York Athletic Club in New York, NY. Returning service members of World War I founded the Post, and the American Legion chartered it in November 1919. The Post has stayed active ever since and counts many prominent veterans among its members, past and present.
The American Legion
World War I veterans founded the American Legion in 1919, and Congress chartered it that same year as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. The Legion serves those who have served through four pillars: Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children and Youth. Its guiding principle is simple. A veteran is a veteran, and the Legion welcomes every current and former service member and works to help them take their place in their communities.
Our Mission
Post 754 carries that principle forward by helping veterans move from military service back into civilian life. Today's veterans serve their country well and faithfully, yet not everyone is ready for what comes after the uniform.
Our Post helps transitioning veterans find gainful, fulfilling work in the New York area. Our members work across many fields, whether financial services, insurance, media and entertainment, technology, or start-ups, and they put those networks to work for fellow veterans.
Our members have made this transition. We will help you make yours. If you are a transitioning veteran, contact us at adjutant@alpost754.net. No one who served should make this transition alone.
